New updates are added at the bottom of this story …….

The original story (published November 10, 2021) follows:

Back 4 Blood, the multiplayer FPS from the creators of Left 4 Dead, has enjoyed great success since its launch. However, there are still a few things to fix in the game.

Many Back 4 Blood players report issues that affect the experience. One of the issues would be an error after updating the game from Microsoft Store Game Pass.

Additionally, other players are complaining about the exaggeratedly high spawn rate of special zombies. Plus, the melee builds nerf is a big deal for many.

Microsoft Store Game Pass error crashes Back 4 Blood

Some Back 4 Blood players report not being able to access the game after a recent update through Game Pass Microsoft Store:

Hi. I just wanted to ask if anyone else encountered an error after updating today.

I was playing great until I noticed an update was available. I went to the Microsoft Store, updated and then couldn’t launch the game.

Tried contacting WB support but their solution didn’t work partly due to Windows permissions on WindowsApps folder (remove and re-add firewall apps permissions).

I have also tried reinstalling but to no avail. I was playing great and even though the melee nerve is bad I wish I could keep playing… Any help is appreciated!

The issue has already been listed on the Back 4 Blood bug reporting platform. In the report, there are other players who confirm that they are suffering from the same problem.

Special zombies / infected spawns (spawn rate) uncorrected

One of the issues that has generated the most complaints among Back 4 Blood players since its launch has been the high spawn rate of special zombies (1, 2, 3, 4).

According to the developers of the game, the special spawn issue should already be resolved:

However, some gamers are reporting that the issue not only wouldn’t have been resolved, but could be even worse than before:

I played act 2 handyman, before I even managed to cross the road to the police station I had already killed 4 big boys, 2 reekers, 2 gagging and 4 hockers, then 2 other big boys appeared at the police station, after all the melee nerves I was really hoping for less promos

The nerve of melee builds is criticized

Another reported issue is the melee nerf in Back 4 Blood. Apparently the melee attacks in the game were “overkill” which has recently been adjusted.

However, many players are unhappy with this. Reports indicate that many have developed melee-centric constructs, which have now been significantly weakened.

Horrible melee nerves, I made my way to the vet hoping to end up facing the nightmare. It killed all progress, even harder to play with random. Regret to have bought at launch… Tired of that 💩. Eff guys, I’m outside.

This situation is worse for players who have developed melee builds as the special infected spawn issue is still there. Now it will cost them a lot more to participate in every game.

At this time, it is not known when the fix for the errors described above will arrive. In the coming days, if there are any new developments in this regard, we will update this article.

A working solution is to update Windows to the latest version (20H2 for me, 21H1 for others). Thanks for all the help in this post !! (Source)

Update 2 (November 12)
